Come out for some New Orleans style brass and a little culture as The Delaware Contemporary hosts one of it's "First Friday" events. The Delaware Contemporary is the state's premier contemporary art museum. Founded in 1979 by artists, it presents exhibitions of regionally, nationally, and internationally recognized artists that explore topical issues in contemporary art and society.  They are excited to announce the museum-wide opening of eight contemporary art exhibitions that invite visitors to explore themes such as environment, personal identity, and the preservation of our emotional worlds. Visitors will examine paintings, sculptures, site-specific art installations, multimedia group shows, and a deep dive into the evolution of collage. These exhibitions invite you to engage with the social and physical landscapes, expressed by artists of our region and beyond. Overall, the Delaware Contemporary houses 7 galleries, 26 artist studios, a gallery shop, auditorium, and classroom and is located on the popular Riverfront Wilmington.
